Building on Rock Bottom

Recently, at Memoria Arts, I came across an engaging quote from J. K. Rowling (of Harry Potter fame.) She said this:  "Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life." And she certainly became a wildly successful writer.


I loved the imagery, really I did. But even more I love the way the Spirit works. Almost immediately He brought the following verse to my mind. 


"He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." Psalm 40:2


Christ went to rock bottom for me. And He rose again. HE is The Rock, My Rock, the solid foundation on which I have built my life. And I don't know of anything better than that!
