It seemed like a small indulgence

It's no accident that a full shelf of cheerful primula are positioned right inside the door of my closest grocery store. After slogging through the slushy parking lot yesterday with sleet beading on my glasses, and cold dampness seeping into my boots, their bright, sweet faces were such a welcome sight. For a girl who loves flowers and craves color, $2.50 apiece seemed like a small indulgence. Before I knew it 3 pots were in my cart . . . impulse shopping at its finest . . . and by someone who truly knows better! Now they're on my piano. And I love them.

Then this morning I opened my online flyer from Aldi . . . and guess what. They have 4-inch primula for 99 cents each. Wouldn't that just rot your socks? I spent $4.50 more than I needed to. $4.50. And if there's one thing I love almost as much as color it's a bargain.

But with leaden skies and more snow in the forecast for today I've decided to just get over it and enjoy my flower babies. And maybe when I get to Aldi on Friday I can pick up a few more!

My Aldi gets flowers, too! They have the best prices, and sometimes after a week or so they get marked down. I also like their fresh cut flowers, just $3.99!

You know how much I love Aldi. LOL
