I'll miss the eggs

Chickens are apparently a hot commodity on Craigslist. Due to the logistics of our closing and moving schedule, the chickens were presenting a problem. Since EVERYTHING these days is about streamlining and simplifying, I posted a little ad on Craigslist yesterday afternoon. FREE--five laying hens --must also take apart and remove our redneck run and coop. Within a couple of hours I had probably a dozen phone calls. One guy was supposed to be coming out and didn't show by the appointed time, so I called the first lady on the waiting list. She, her husband, and their young daughter were here within the hour with their truck and trailer.

So, bye bye chickens. Maybe we'll start a new batch in the spring. You'll understand I use the term we loosely since Jim does all the work. In the meantime . . . I really will miss the eggs!
