Soup on Saturday

Back porch basil and parsley~both overgrown and bolted
So, we finally put an offer (low) today on the big old house we've been looking at (after checking out 2 other possibilities in the last 24 hours.) We should hear back by Monday. Let me be honest here. The past couple of days I've done some second guessing . . . it seems like such a big project and so many possible issues with 2 sets of assessments, inspections, etc., all on a very tight timeline. It's a major rocking of the boat for the entire family. And I just want to lie on the couch and stop thinking about it!
`
After all the papers were signed and the realtors left I puttered around in the kitchen (my favorite way to unwind) and made creamy sweet potato soup for supper. It has leeks and garlic and onion and nutmeg and cinnamon and maple syrup in it. Very tasty.
`
Doing some reading this evening I came across this anecdote: Someone said to a little old African American lady from the south, "You have so much confidence in your God that if he told you to jump through a stone wall you'd probably try it." With a twinkle in her eye she replied, "If de Lawd tole me to jump through a stone wall it would be mah business to jump, and his business to make the hole." Wouldn't you love to have a spirit like that? I would!

I got my book in the mail yesterday! Thank you SO much.

I think your family is headed in the right direction E. God would not have smoothed things over so calmly if He wasn't wanting you guys to start this new chapter :)

Love the saying. I can see that lady saying that! LOL

Hope you are doing well.

((hugs))
